Chia Pudding + Mango Smoothie ☀️
Do you remember those chia pets we all had back in the late 90s? SAME SEEDS! Chia seeds are the same seeds that grew a green afro on your pretend pet in grade school. They're SUPER small, the micro of seeds. Yet they are packed with omega-3 fatty acids which help raise HDL to protect your heart. Also they're very high in iron, calcium and fiber.
Being a plant based food, naturally, the seeds provide a lot of extra health benefits: healthy complexion, increased energy and a natural metabolism booster for weight maintenance.
If all that isn't reason enough... you need to make this pudding-smoothie combo because I promise it is THE BOMB.
Ingredients for two smoothies:
1 c unsweetened almond milk
1/4 c chia seeds
2 tbsp flax seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
2 medium mangos, peeled and diced
1/2 c unsweetened almond milk
1 clementine, peeled
1/2 tablespoon all natural honey
Fruit (blueberries and apples)
@traderjoeslist Coconut Flakes
@myteasquares (TEA INFUSED + CAFIENE + ORGANIC)
In bowl mix together 1 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup chia seeds, 2 tbsp flax seeds and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Place in refrigerator for at minimum 15-20 minutes for the seeds to absorb part of the liquid.
In a blender combine 1/2 cup almond milk, mango, clementine and honey.
If you'd like to use a base garnish (clementine shown in the first glass); place pieces on the inside of the glass at the bottom.
Take the seed based pudding out of the refrigerator.
Layer a glass first with the pudding, then top with the smoothie blend.
Garnish with your favorite @myteasquares(my currently featured fav is 'Acai Bluberry Tea' flavor, fruit and shredded coconut! 🌴 ☀️ #smoothiebowl
